Some facts on grinding stones.

All stones sold in the USA need to have the STONE manufacturers name labeled on the stone and it cannot be covered up by the equipment manufacturers private label . This is to protect the users safety from dangerously poor quality stones made in foreign markets, such as India.

Use of non manufacturer grinding stones cannot void your warranty unless the equipment manufacturer provides the replacement stones free of charge.

A fact about "Manufacturers' Warranty"

If the claim is made that use of an aftermarket brand stone will "void the warranty," then

you should ask for this statement in writing and where it is referred to in your warranty

papers. You will not receive it and if you do than a replacement stone should be sent to you

free of charge. If you are charged for the stone the manufacturer may be violating the

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act or other applicable law. US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312

Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the Clean Air Act and general principles of

the U.S. Federal Trade Commission Act, a manufacturer may not require the use of any brand

of article unless the manufacturer provides the item free of charge under the terms of the

warranty.

It should be noted that the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is a U.S. federal law that applies to

consumer products, including items imported into the USA. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has authority to enforce the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, including obtaining injunctions and orders containing affirmative relief. In addition, a consumer can bring suit under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
